12L14 Steel Rod (Square)

This chart reflects the cost in US dollars per pound for square free machining steel, alloy 12L14, for the period January 2009 to present.  The cost trends for these sizes/shapes are reflective of the general steel bar market price trend although specific price does vary by shape and size.  Theses sizes/shapes were chosen as they are the most commonly used in production of steel service valves.


Brass Rod (CDA360) Mill Cost

This chart reflects the Chase Brass and Copper published delivered base price in US dollars per pound for free machining  brass bar, alloy CDA360, for the period January 2009 to present.  Although the cost per pound for specific sizes or shapes may be higher the trend in cost per pound is reflective of the entire market.




Stainless Steel Rod (316L) Surcharge

This chart reflects the Schmolz+Bickenbach published surcharge in US dollars per pound for stainless steel bar, alloy 316L, for the period January 2009 to present.  316L stainless steel was chosen as it is the alloy most commonly used by Automatic at this time.  The change in surcharge of 316L is reflective of the market trend in general, however the magnitude of variation in stainless steel cost does vary by alloy in large part due to Nickel content..
